Got my new VCDS cable!
Well it took awhile, but I finally got my new VCDS cable.
I sent my GENUINE Micro-Can Cable to Ross-Tech in the US to upgrade to the HEX+CAN. $159 plus postage.
Anyway I get this email back from them saying i'm not a registered client. Well duh, I bought it secondhand, but it's genuine.. so WTF? I'm paying them $159, the same a 'registered' person would, but because I didn't personally buy it in the first place, they wanted to slug me an additional $100. Ripoff much?
So I did a bit of googling, and bought one elsewhere from www.vag-diagnostics.com. Approx $115.00... bargain - works 100%!
So for anyone about to flame me, I tried to 'do the right thing' but I refuse to waste even more money because of some bullshit excuse. Even Microsoft isn't that bad - i've bought genuine versions of Windows/Office secondhand.. not a problem.
